Unit Size Guide
Compare common unit sizes with familiar rooms and choose space without paying for empty floor.
Unit dimensions describe floor area, but height and the shape of your belongings matter too. These comparisons are a starting point; the best choice depends on how carefully you pack and how often you need access.
5 x 5 ft — closet size
Good for boxes, suitcases, small shelves, seasonal items, sports gear, or student belongings. Think of a generous walk-in closet.
5 x 10 ft — small room
Often suitable for the contents of a studio or compact one-bedroom apartment, including a mattress set, boxes, chairs, and smaller appliances.
10 x 10 ft — one-car garage width
A common choice for several rooms of furniture, appliances, and boxes. It provides roughly 100 square feet of floor area.
10 x 15 ft — multi-room move
Useful for the contents of a two- or three-bedroom home, larger furniture, business inventory, or a substantial renovation clear-out.
10 x 20 ft — whole-home capacity
Designed for a larger household move, bulky equipment, or significant business stock. Confirm door width and vehicle access when storing oversized items.
Choose for access, not only volume
If you will visit often, allow room for a central aisle and keep active items near the front. Share your list with our team and we will help you compare two sensible options.
